Ghorepani Poonhill Trek Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is a small circuit trekking trail in the lower part of Annapurna region that winds through picturesque rural ethnic hamlets, and forests of rhododendron and bamboo. It is one of the classic trekking tails, north-west beautiful town of Pokhara. The most stunning viewing point Poon Hill (3,210m) is the prime destination of this trip. You will witness the magnificent view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges and experience sunrise over the Himalayas. This hill offers majestic sunrise over the sky touching mountains, and the glimpse of turning the snowcapped peaks from gray to pink to brilliant white is just awe-inspiring. Ghandruk village is another attraction of this trek where visitors can appreciate the lifestyle of village people, particularly the Gurungs, and their culture.
Ghorepani Poonhill trekking route continues through forest of blooming rhododendron, oak, maples and other alpine flowers. We pass by stunning scenic villages settled by Magar, Gurung ethnic peoples. One should cross rivers and climb small hills. You will experience the opulent heritage of an ancient city that is satiated with historic pilgrimages, architecture and tales. During this trip, you will get acquainted to villagers from diverse tribes and castes, and see how they live in such alluring surroundings. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is relatively easy trekking which can be done all round the year but autumn and spring are considered best.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu , transfer to hotel, welcome dinner
Our representative meets you at the arrival gate of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu. You then taken to your chosen hotel and take rest.
Day 02: Fly to Pokhara (823m) and Trek to Ulleri (2,050m)- 30 minutes flight, 4 hrs. trek
After breakfast in the hotel, transfer to airport and attempt a 30 minutes flight to Pokhara. At Pokhara airport you will meet our all crew members. Drive to Nayapul (1,070m) and start trekking towards the village of Ulleri (2,050m). The trek will takes around six hours as we pass through subtropical forest, river banks and villages. Overnight in Ulleri. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 03: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,750m)
Today's destination is Ghorepani (2,750m). Soon after leaving Ulleri, we enter into the dense Rhododendron forest. In spring, the forest becomes colorful with varieties of blooming rhododendron forests. Before reaching Ghorepani, we pass by the small village of Banthati and Nangethati. Ghorepani is a big Magar village famous for incredible view of Annapurna range, their preserved culture and unique housing pattern. Overnight in Ghorepani. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 04: Hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) and trek to Tadapani (2,700m)
Today, we wake up early and start hike for our supreme destination Poon Hill (3,210m). It is a crowning point to see the breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna Mountains. You can easily see over 20 snow capped peaks including Annapurna I (8,091m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Fishtail (6,993m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Annapurna II, Annapurna III and many more. We then return to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue trekking to Tadapani. Along the up-down trail we walk through the forest, waterfalls and streams. Trekking time 5-6 hours. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 05: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (1,940m)
After breakfast, we descend down heading to big Gurung village of Ghandruk (1,940m). Almost the entire trail today is covered by the dense forest of rich wild flora and fauna. There are still great views of the mountains including Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna South and Himalchuli (6441m). Ghandruk is a cultural village with preserved traditional lifestyle and houses. Visit around the village, do conversation with locals and stay overnight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 06: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul, drive to Pokhara (827m)
Today is the last day of trekking. Enjoying the enchanting view of terraces and scattered houses, we trek all the way down to Nayapul (1,070m). At Nayapul, we will catch bus/car and drive back to Pokhara. Visit around the Lakeside city; do boating in Phewa Lake and stay overnight in a selected hotel. Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.
Day 07: Fly to Kathmandu
We fly to Kathmandu in the afternoon (there are several flights daily). In the morning, explore the Pokhara city or try your hand on Paragliding. At Kathmandu airport, a staff from Trekking Mart receives you and transfer to hotel. Do some last minute shopping for your friends and family and enjoy your last night in Nepal. Meal: Breakfast.
Day 08: Final departure transfer
At about 3 hours prior to your flight time, we transfer you to the airport to fly your onward destination.
