Annapurna Base Camp Trek Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is one of the most famous trekking areas in Nepal. There are rarely a few places in the world with such a splendid variety of natural beauty as that of Annapurna region. The region of Annapurna is situated in the western part of the country nearby from the city of Pokhara and it is quite popular and famous when it comes to trekking and other expedition activities.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is not just popular in Nepal but also in the entire world as it happens to be one of the must-trek regions in the world. It is a rare combination of long arrays of snow capped mountains, crystal clear lakes and turbulent rivers with deep gorges. One of the positive aspects of Annapurna trekking is that there is no worry of high-altitude sickness as in some other trekking routes in the country.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is classic trek relatively short and can be completed in as little as 14-15 days. It starts either from Phedi or from Nayapul after reaching Pokhara. The maximum elevation the trekkers come across the Base Camp Trek is around 4000 meters. The view along the trails is superb. The Annapurna base camp trek leads to the Annapurna base camp from where climbers ascend on their way to Mt. Annapurna. Also the Machhapuchhre base camp can be reached, from where climbers ascend on their way to Mt. Machhepuchhre. The peak of this mountain is shaped like a fishtail, which you can see when you have a good view on this peak. That is why Mt.

Machhepuchhre is also called Mt. Fishtail. With its amazing views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli, it is a great place to spend a day or two. The huge south face of Annapurna (8090 m.) provides an impressive backdrop. If you really want to know what it feels like to be in the wonderland, Annapurna Base Camp Trek is certainly your thing. The best time for Annapurna Base Camp Trek is during the months of September, November, March and May. However, the trekking can be done round the year.

Tips for guide and porter
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel
your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our team representatives and then you be transferred to the Hotel where you will be briefed about the travel itinerary. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley is on the second day of the itinerary package. After having breakfast at the Hotel in the morning, you will start the sightseeing tour with the visit to the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. Similarly, you can also visit the holy Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple and also the Bouddhanath Stupa which are important destinations for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. You will return back to the Hotel in the evening.

Day 03: Drive (6hrs) or Fly (30 min) to Pokhara
The next day, you will either drive to Pokhara (around 200km) along Prithivi Highway or take a thirty-minute flight from Kathmandu and land at the Pokhara Airport. If you choose to drive to Pokhara, you will enjoy the natural beauty of the river and also the hills while on the way to the beautiful city. After reaching Pokhara, you will be transferred to the Hotel there where you will be staying overnight.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ulleri (2960m) 5hrs
After breakfast in the morning on the fourth day at the hotel, you will take a drive to Naya Pul (42km) via car/taxi. Naya Pul is the starting point of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Around thirty minutes of walk from Naya Pul will take the trekkers to Birethanti, a small and vibrant town nearby Pokhara. You will then continue to walk from Birethanti along the villages and the forests before finally arriving at another village of Ulleri. It will take around five hours in total for you to reach Ulleri where you can have lunch and have rest once you reach there. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2780m) 5hrs
On the fifth day, the trekkers will be heading towards the beautiful village of Ghorepani. An hour’s walk from Ulleri will take you to Nangethanti, the destination for lunch on the fifth day. More hours of trek from Nangethanti will take the trekkers eventually to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is specially known for the spectacular views of mountains including Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre and other Himalayas of the region. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 06: Trek to Poonhill (3210m) and trek to Tadapani (2590m) 4hrs
On this day, the visitors will walk from Ghorepani to Poon Hill in the morning. Poon Hill, as we know, is quite popular for the panoramic view of the mountains--Annapurna and others while it is also an ideal spot for the Sunrise and Sunset views of the nearby vicinity. Mountains like Dhaulagiri and Mount Machhapuchhre are also visible from Poon Hill. After visiting Poon Hill and spending some time there at the top, you will return to Ghorepani for a quick breakfast, and then continue the trek to Tadapani. Tadapani is the destination for day six.

Day 07: Trek to Chhomorng (2340m) 5 hrs
Descending further down from Tadapani, the trekkers will continue to hike towards the village of Chhomorng. Four to five hours of trekking is required before you reach Chhomorng which is located at an altitude of 2340 meters. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 08: Trek to Himalayan hotel (3280m) 5 hrs
From Chhomorng, you will be heading to the Himalayan Hotel on the eighth day which is located at 3280 meters of altitude. You will reach there after walking for around five to six hours along the fields and passing several villages on the way. Overnight stay at the Himalayan Hotel.

Day 09: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) 5 hrs
Trekkers will climb around 1000 meters of altitude before finally making it to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). ABC, alternately, is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary as it is a protected area of the Nepal government. Reaching ABC will be the highest point of the trekking as you will reach the highest altitude of the trek while enjoying the natural and panoramic views of the mountains. Overnight stay at guest house.

Day 10: Trek to Bamboo (2335m)
On the tenth day, you will return back from the ABC and start your return journey from the Base Camp. On this day, you will climb down as the trail now descends from the ABC. The trail will be easier one as there will be no problems of high altitude sickness. After almost seven hours of walking, the trekkers will finally arrive at the village of Bamboo where they will be staying at a guesthouse for the rest of the night.

Day 11: Trek to Jhinudanda (1610m) 4 hrs
The destination for the 11th day is Jhinu Danda as the trekkers on this day will walk from Bamboo to Pothana taking around four hours of hiking. The major attraction for the day is the natural hot water spring also known as Tatopani where the tourists can take a dip at the hot water spring and relax themselves. It is believed that dipping at the hot water spring cures skin and several other diseases. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 12: Trek to Pothana (1960m) 5 hrs
On this day, you will climb up for a short while and make your way towards the village of Pothana which is the last village before you head back to Pokhara. The village of Pothana is a wonderful and beautiful village where the trekkers can enjoy the natural beauty of the region. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 13: Trek to Phedi, drive to Pokhara
On the thirteenth day of the itinerary, you will walk to Phedi from the village of Pothana which will take around a couple of hours. From Phedi, you will drive to Pokhara . After reaching Pokhara, you will then be transferred to the Hotel where you will spend the rest of the night.

Day 14: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu
On this day, you will have breakfast in the morning at the Hotel and then either drive back to Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway or take a flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu. After reaching the Capital, you will be transferred to the Hotel.

Day 15: Departure from Kathmandu
On the final day of the itinerary, you will be transferred to the International Airport in Kathmandu from where you will catch a flight back to your home country.
